ABOUT OUR COUNCIL
Our Mission:
Our Vision:
Our Core Values
We also believe that as more and more physicians and dentists sense in their hearts a burden for ministry, God will open doors for us to walk through. Our responsibility will be to walk prayerfully and carefully through those doors and to empower doctors to reach their professional communities for Christ. By His grace and with His power we will do it. Charted by the CMDA in 2001, we are entirely self-supported. Our meetings are held four times a year and are lead by our Area Director, Mike Roberts, DDS. Officers:
Members: Members of our Council include practicing physicians and dentists who share the mission and vision of the CMDA and our Council. Medical and dental students, pastors, chaplains, nurses, administrators and other healthcare professionals also participate in the Council to give insight and support to its work. If you are interested in serving on the Council, contact Mike Roberts at drmiker@sbcglobal.net. ***** The Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) are made up of the Christian Medical Association (CMA) and the Christian Dental Association (CDA). CMDA serves as a voice and ministry for Christian doctors. Founded in 1931 by medical students in Chicago, Illinois, CMDA provides programs and services supporting its mission to "change hearts in healthcare" with a current membership of more than 17,000. CMDA promotes positions and addresses policies on healthcare issues; conducts overseas medical evangelism projects through its mission arm, Global Health Outreach; coordinates a network of Christian doctors for fellowship and professional growth; sponsors student ministries in medical and dental schools; distributes educational and inspirational resources; hosts marriage and family conferences; provides Third World missionary doctors with continuing education resources; and conducts academic exchange programs overseas. By being the "hands of Jesus" to needy people, CMDA seeks to fulfill His Great Commandment (Matthew 22:39; 25:36) and His Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). |
